To tell you the truth I don’t know what YOU do, but I can tell you what I did.

We were living at a time when life was good the economy was thriving and it seemed that money grew on trees and then the bottom fell out. Since that time, my world collapsed as has that of many of my real estate friends and business associates.

Many of them have quit the real estate industry and fallen into dead end jobs that they hate. Maybe that is where you are, for me it was very difficult to go to work in corporate america after being self employed for 25 years, but you do what you gotta do.

Many have tried and failed to find ways to make money online. Many have turned to energy companies, health products, gold-silver, travel and the list goes on and on.

For most, they spent more money then they’ve earned and suffered a great deal of frustration along the way, as did I. In three years I earned  almost $10,000. If you break that down to a monthly income that is whopping $277.00 a monthor $64.15 a week. That is not working an hour a day, but many waking hours 7 days a week. That was gross profit before taking into consideration that I spent almost $14,000 to get the training, skills, services and products needed to  make that money….so the reality is I was paying $166.00 a month to be in a business that was not profitable.

I know that sounds crazy, I am not the smartest guy on the internet, but I am coachable and I can follow directions. So if you tell me this is what you did to make six figures a year online, I can do the same thing. The frustration is, you do what others are doing and you do not get the results. After a while, you start to believe it is you, because it seems to work for other people.

They tell you “it’s ok, just fake it till you make it” . If you are like me, an honest person, you’re not going to go out and tell people you are making $10,000 a month, if your not. Based on what I have experienced on the internet many people are doing exactly that.

What I am trying to say is, it is not you or me. Up until now it has been an industry set up to reward a few people tremendously and share pennies with the masses. Here are the problems with creating the momentum that you will need to make $10,000 a month.

1. You need to put up money to make money

2. You make a very small portion of each sale, so the amount of sales you need to make is astronomical.

3. It takes 60-90 days to get the little bit of income you have earned, so you have no profits to put back into marketing.

4. Even if you do have money for marketing, if you are in a competitive market, the competion has more money and more skill.

5. It takes forever to set up a system, blog and all the things you need to generate and convert traffic to sales.

I can only speak for myself, I am solution oriented and I don’t give up. After evaluating the above list for why it has not worked, I searched for the closest thing I could find to eliminate problems 1 to 4. What I found was, it did not exist, until now that is. The Power Of Goals Dream Big & Take Action

The power of the written goal when combined with action is truly amazing. I can personally attest to this fact because I am older than most people reading this article. About twenty five years ago I had the good fortune of being associated with a coach that was a huge fan of Zig Ziggler, so she got our entire team to sign up for the “See You At The Top” course. Thinking back, this was actually my first true mastermind group.

We completed the course in the first quarter of the year and were the top team in our company that year, an honor that we had never captured before. The individual achievements were just as, if not more powerful. More than 50% of the team doubled or even tripled their production from the previous year.

Obviously there was short term success directly related to our mentor, Zig Ziggler and “See You At The Top”, but the thing that blew me away happened years later. I was moving from one home to another, in the process I was going through old boxes getting rid of thing I did not use or need any more. In the process of doing this I came across the “See You At The Top” binder and workbook. Within the pages of this workbook was a page dedicated to your top 100 goals. These were dreams as much as goals the sky was the limit, things like climb Mount Everest. The shocking thing was that I had accomplished a majority of the things on my list, climbing Mount Everest was not one of them, not because I did not look into it over the years, but because I was not willing to put in the time to develop the skills needed to accomplish it. I also was not willing to take the risk and that is ok. Your goals change over time as you grow older and your life and priorities change.

The details of goal setting that you would get from a workshop cannot be communicated in a five hundred word article, so I am going to recommend that you read “The Power of Focus” by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Les Hewitt. They define goal as “the ongoing pursuit of worthy objective until accomplished”. From this book I am going to share with you a top 10 checklist as a foundation for goal setting.

1. Your most important goals must be yours.
2. Your goals must be meaningful.
3. Your goals must be specific and measurable.
4. Your goals must be flexible.
5. Your goals must be challenging and exciting.
6. Your goals must be in alignment with your values.
7. Your goals must be well balanced.
8. Your goals must be realistic. (there are no such thing as unrealistic goals, just unrealistic time frames)
9. Your goals must include contribution
10. You goals need to be supported.

The tenth and final item on the checklist is one that is more difficult. There are a few ways you can have your goals supported, but in my opinion the best way is through a mastermind group or what we call an inner circle. This is a group of proactive individuals that will support and encourage you, do what they can to help you reach your goals through, training, support and accountability. What Will It Take For YOU
To Do Something, Anything?

You have been searching the internet for weeks, months and in some cases years, but there is nothing that seems right.

You find a way to rule out every opportunity for one reason or another. It is a scam, it cost too much, I do not have enough experience to do that or it is too good to be true.

So the question is, what will it take for you to do something, anything?

It is alright, I understand, but unlike you I am the opposite of a procrastinator, I jumped into opportunities like each one was the one. In many cases I kind of wish that I was you, I would have saved a lot of time, money, failures and headaches.

I am not telling you this so that you will feel sorry for me. I am an eternal optimist, full of faith and a beleiver in the secret. There was never a moment through it all that I did not think I would not land on my feet, because I knew I would never give up, no matter how long it takes.

I owe that persistence and determination to the U.S. Marine Corp and I am grateful for it.

Enough about me, lets get back to you and the question.

The positive side of what I have done over the past three years are first, the experience gained. I may be foolish but I am not a total moron,

I learn from my mistakes and I don’t make the same mistake twice.

Second, I have seen enough bad business models that I can now recognize what will work and what will not.

Third, the realization that very few people are really getting wealthy or even earning a good living in very many online opportunities and even if they are it does not last.

Fourth, it takes too long for most people to make money online fast enough to keep them solvent and or motivated for the commitment to last.

So have my years of trial and error finally come to an end? I will let you answer that question for yourself after I explain where my journey has taken me.

Beer Is Good & People Are Crazy Not Starting A Work From Home Business

Country singer Billy Currington was the inspiration for this peice with his song “People Are Crazy” I don’t want to start a work from home business; I would rather commute long hours, miss family events and make someone else rich, is that crazy? Why is that the norm and not the exception? 

Top of the list responses would be security and being afraid to make changes in life (also know as the fear of the unknown).

Who is really secure today, whether in corporate america, the real estate or mortgage industry, or struggling with your own brick and mortar business.Can we really feel secure in these current times or do we just make ourselves beleive it is so for peace of mind.

What do we do, make a decision to transform now, before it is too overdue or delay and say “what if”. A great book entitled “Who Moved My Cheese” by Spencer Johnson, MD describes this scenerio best . The craziest time in any ones life is when they are out of control and forced into change. We see in the news and read in the paper daily of the out of their mind things that some people due when faced with this kind of pressure.

The logical thing to do would be to create additional value in yourself now by gaining knowledge and new skills. The most successful home business entrepeneurs are rarely focused on money, it is usually something much more personal like family.

Understand that a work from home opportunity is a business and should not be entered into lightly. No matter what you read or hear on the internet a work from home business is a job. I hate to call it that because it is so much fun when you conquer it. Working from home has allowed me to accomplish my main goal of having more time with my wife, family and friends. It is work, but there is no comparison to anything you have ever done.
