In part one of “Sometimes Opportunity Comes Disguised As Disaster” we talked about medical and physical disaster. Today we are going into the world of financial disaster.
The thing about any disaster as with anything that happens to you in life, it is not what happened but, how your react to it. Jack Canfield uses this formula in his book “The Success Principles” (how to get from where you are to where you want to be) to explain it, E + R = O (EVENT + RESPONSE = OUTCOME).
So you are going through a financial disaster, you’re life as you knew it is over, so what can you do. You can do anything you want.
That’s right anything, we get so paralyzed with where we are and what we could of done to change it, if we could and why we did not save for a rainy day, that we do nothing.
I know because the same thing that happened to me happened to thousands of people in my industry and I watched as many just gave up.
The industry I am talking about is the real estate industry which collapsed with the mortgage industry, the stock market and more or less the job market.
This had a huge impact on the entire country (USA), but some areas were hit much harder like the Florida real estate market. For me personally business dropped off more than 60% over a 2 year period.
Now real estate agents are scrambling to capture jobs in an area where the unemployment rate is higher than it has been since the great depression.
In other words they are looking for jobs that don’t exist. They see their only option as finding a job within 20, 30 or 50 miles of their home, but there really are none, at least not the kind that are going to replace a six figure income.
Opportunity Comes Disguised As Financial Disaster
My wife and I reacted a little differently We formed a financial disaster recovery plan. We looked at other things outside the box. First we looked at our primary income sources and where there was a market that was good and we found it.
You see there are a couple of states that are booming, like western North Dakota, South Dakota and eastern Montana.
When I say booming, I mean there is literally an oil and natural gas boom going on. It is similar to the Black Hills gold rush of the 1870′s; small towns of 5000 people have grown to 15000 in two years. Good paying jobs, that they have trouble filling?
Do you think that makes for a good real estate market? It makes for a good anything market, entrepreneurs have unlimited opportunity in this area.
The best part for my wife and I is we vacationed in this part of the country and we love it.
For us we got to move to a place we would have retired to and now may. So moving here was not a burden, but even if you are going somewhere you do not love and you are doing it to provide for your family, isn’t it better than doing little where you are or nothing.
Be open to change because it is coming whether you like it or not. Change is the event, how will you react, your outcome totally depends on it.
We love what we do and have both been doing the same lines of work for more than twenty years.
If you do not love what you do, financial disaster is an opportunity to get into a field you do love, to learn and grow.
Do not put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak.

If you are reading this article on my blog you know that I have multiple streams of income (which is a good follow up article) because you cannot depend on any single source of income in the new economy we are living in today.
So find something you love to do, that you can make a profit at, and go where there is a market for it.
If you are having success online, you can work anywhere and you won’t have to move. That does not mean that you cannot move to a tropical beach somewhere in the world.
You can do whatever you want, if you really want it and are willing to take the action necessary to get it. See it, believe it and achieve it.
Have you ever heard someone that survived a terrible accident or a dreaded disease later say, it was the best thing that ever happened to them. It is hard to imagine, but I understand exactly what they are saying, and why they fell that way.
I am one of those people. Six years ago I was diagnosed with cancer, at the time I was told, it put me in shock. I went through a period of denial, then reality set in. Once that happened the decision was made to do what medical science had to offer and allow God to do the rest.
If you’re not a christian and don’t believe in God, that’s ok. Whatever or whoever you call on in life or death situations for divine intervention is fine. If you have never been in a life or death situation, believe me, even if you are a non-believer you will become one quick, I have witnessed it many times.

I was a christian and a good man before this happened, I thought anyway. I treated people right, did not create controversy if it could be avoided and helped people if it was convenient to me.
I would always greet people with a smile and hello, but I would never go out of my way to understand if they needed someone to talk to or if they were suffering some trajedy.
This experience made me realize that a good man was not one that did what was easiest for him when it came to others. A good man does what he can to encourage others when they need it, make others smile when they are sad and go out of your way to lift the burden of those carrying a heavy load.
A good man gives back, financially, physically and mentally.
We all have so much to offer and in a world that is moving at what seems to be a hundred miles an hour, it is difficult to find the time to spend with your family, let alone another family that needs a helping hand. But, we need to find a way, don’t wait until something terrible opens your eyes to what is really important in life.
Life is busy and that is not going to change. It’s ok to have a full life, but keep it balanced in all areas, family, physical, emotional, spiritual, social and career. YOU will feel better and perform at maximum potential like a finely tuned engine.

So what are the best mlm companies for your mlm network marketing business? Not an easy question to answer because there are many good mlm companies where you can have a legitimate mlm business with success.
The list is really endless but here a just of few of the most popular Avon, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Scentsy, Amway, Herbalife International, Tupperware, Thirty-One, Melaleuca,Tastefully Simple, ACN, Numis Network, Trump Network and the list goes on and on.
If your mlm companies not listed, don’t feel bad, it would take thousands of words to list even a fraction of the mlm companies that are in business today.
Since all of these mlm companies are good, how do we go about the process of finding the one that is best for YOU?
Create a checklist of what is important to you and what your goals and priorities are for joining. For example, you’re broke and need money fast.
Now you need to look at the compensation plan, determine if you income goal can be met and how long is it going to take for you to get paid.
If you are new to mlm network marketing, the question is what training is offered if any, is this training free or do I have to pay for it? Are the trainers in the field now or are they teaching old school internet marketing systems that are no longer valid in the network marketing industry today.
Is there residual income and what are the requirements for you to earn it?
Based on this, if your goal is for example to earn $10,000 a month, realistically how long will it take for that t0 happen and are you willing and do you have the time it takes. In other words compare the mlm companies to your life and what matches up with your situation the best.
Realistically, 97% of mlm network marketers do not make a profit in their business. I always had a dream to own my own business and in my twenties an opportunity came about to where that dream came true and I became the owner of a brick and mortar business. Sometimes our dreams and reality are not the same.
It took me five years of putting in more money than I was taking out of that business to realize there were other things that I could do for profit. From any one else’s stand point my business was doing great, everyone that worked for me was bringing in more money than they ever had, we were a top company inour area in our industry….the problem was reflective of the hours I spent at the office, the sleepless nights and lost time with family.

We were living at a time when life was good the economy was thriving and it seemed that money grew on trees and then the bottom fell out. Since that time, my world collapsed as has that of many of my real estate friends and business associates.
Many of them have quit the real estate industry and fallen into dead end jobs that they hate. Maybe that is where you are, for me it was very difficult to go to work in corporate america after being self employed for 25 years, but you do what you gotta do.
What Do YOU Do When Your Dreams Die?
Many have tried and failed to find ways to make money online. Many have turned to energy companies, health products, gold-silver, travel and the list goes on and on.
For most, they spent more money then they’ve earned and suffered a great deal of frustration along the way, as did I. In three years I earned almost $10,000. If you break that down to a monthly income that is whopping $277.00 a monthor $64.15 a week. That is not working an hour a day, but many waking hours 7 days a week. That was gross profit before taking into consideration that I spent almost $14,000 to get the training, skills, services and products needed to make that money….so the reality is I was paying $166.00 a month to be in a business that was not profitable.
I know that sounds crazy, I am not the smartest guy on the internet, but I am coachable and I can follow directions. So if you tell me this is what you did to make six figures a year online, I can do the same thing. The frustration is, you do what others are doing and you do not get the results. After a while, you start to believe it is you, because it seems to work for other people.
They tell you “it’s ok, just fake it till you make it” . If you are like me, an honest person, you’re not going to go out and tell people you are making $10,000 a month, if your not. Based on what I have experienced on the internet many people are doing exactly that.
What I am trying to say is, it is not you or me. Up until now it has been an industry set up to reward a few people tremendously and share pennies with the masses. Here are the problems with creating the momentum that you will need to make $10,000 a month.
1. You need to put up money to make money
2. You make a very small portion of each sale, so the amount of sales you need to make is astronomical.
3. It takes 60-90 days to get the little bit of income you have earned, so you have no profits to put back into marketing.
4. Even if you do have money for marketing, if you are in a competitive market, the competion has more money and more skill.
5. It takes forever to set up a system, blog and all the things you need to generate and convert traffic to sales.
I can only speak for myself, I am solution oriented and I don’t give up. After evaluating the above list for why it has not worked, I searched for the closest thing I could find to eliminate problems 1 to 4. What I found was, it did not exist, until now that is. It is different from anything that has ever existed online. I know you’ve heard that before, so I will just give you the reasons that it was the solution for me personally.
1. You need to put up money to make money, but it is a smaller amount then most ventures I have been involved in and you have the ability to earn it back
in the same day.
